RPL in the News: "Maggie Rogers on Creating Intention, Connection through Music at Harvard Divinity"

"When Maggie Rogers took the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April to perform in front of tens of thousands of people, many of them likely did not know the performance was also part of her graduate school requirement.

Rogers, the Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer, and performer, will graduate this year from Harvard Divinity School with a Master of Religion and Public Life (MRPL) degree, a program designed for experienced professionals who wish to develop in-depth knowledge of the complex ways religion influences public life related to their career areas. She is one of 11 people who will be the first to complete the new program, which launched last year and requires a public presentation to earn the degree.... We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our friend and colleague Dr. Tally Kritzman-Amir, a Religion, Conflict and Peace Initiative (RCPI) affiliate and a leading young scholar of refugee studies, immigration, and human rights, after a brave battle with cancer.

Educated at Tel Aviv University School of Law, Tally emerged as one of the leading immigration and asylum law and policy experts in Israel. She served as a Fox International Fellow at Yale University, a Hauser Research scholar at New York University, a Polonsky Fellow at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Law School's Human Rights Program, a Scholar-in-Residence and an Honorary Research Affiliate at the Hadassah Brandeis Institute, and a Visiting Professor at both Harvard University and Boston University.... Phillip Picardi, Master of Religion in Public Life (MRPL) candidate, has launched a series of daily newsletters, Religiously Blond, as part of his final public project. An award-winning journalist and editor best known for rebranding Teen Vogue, Phillip also founded them., served as Editor-In-Chief of Out and is the current host of the Crooked Media podcast Unholier Than Thou. Phillip, who was raised Catholic, highlights in the internal diversity of Catholicism in this interview with Catholic abortion doula Kate Hoeting to unpack the Supreme Court draft opinion leaked earlier this week. 

Phillip will host an Instagram Live on  Wednesday, May 11, 7-8:30pm, @religiously_blonde, with the New York Times bestselling author and poet Cleo Wade to celebrate the end of the program.
