# Meet the 2020-21 Fellows in Conflict and Peace: Vivien Sansour

My name is Vivien Sansour. In the past decade of my life I have been working in the fields of agriculture/seed conservation and art. My work varies using different mediums from organizing farmer initiatives, growing food, and creating artworks that excavate old stories and gives them a contemporary twist. In 2014 I founded the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library and it’s affiliate El Bier Arts and Seeds. As an extension of this work I built a traveling kitchen- a project that aims to highlight the importance of food in telling our story and in shaping our culture. While I use different mediums in my work including installation, film, sketch, seed, soil…among others- my deepest interest is in writing which is why I joined this fellowship at Harvard. I wanted to have access to a library, to new thinking, and to have time away to write. I am currently working on an autobiographical book that tells the stories of seeds through an intimate account. I hope to accomplish this in the next year. Thank you!
