Annual Report 2024-25: Religious Literacy and Education Initiative

The Education Team continues to embody what a community of practice and collaboration could look like when teaching the skill of religious literacy. Inspired by the arts and moral imagination, this year’s reflection focused on joy—moments in the classroom when our capacity to imagine and create is strengthened.

Our office expanded with a new curriculum specialist, Hesham Elnagar, additional graduate assistantships, an enlarged Educator Advisory Committee, and new partnerships across Harvard schools for the annual Global Studies Outreach summer teacher workshop.

We designed our new educator offerings as community spaces for curiosity and collaboration, starting with drop-in “lesson plan jams,” where teachers across the world virtually “jammed” together to ask curricular questions on religious literacy, workshop lesson plans, and assessment materials.
