Abby esposito

Abby Esposito is a social studies teacher in her fourth year of teaching at Conard High School in West Hartford, Connecticut. She currently teaches United States History, Genocide Studies, and Human Rights to tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students. Abby has worked closely with the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center through the University of Connecticut, as well as other educators throughout the state, in order to provide meaningful human rights education opportunities to CT students. She currently serves as co-chair of the CT Human Rights and Youth Action Summit held annually at UCONN, and partners with the National Council for the Social Studies Human Rights Community and the CT Human Rights Partnership in order to develop frameworks, tools, and resources accessible to social studies educators. She is adviser to several clubs and activities at Conard, including the Conard Human Rights Day Initiative and the Conard Young Democrats. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA in history, a BS in social studies education, and an MA in curriculum and instruction. Abby has spent the past three summers working with the Religious Literacy Project, as she previously participated in the Hartford Teacher Education Project, as well as the 2017 and 2018 Summer Institutes.
